Fleeing The Sparrow

There are times in our lives when shadows startle us, when the breeze makes us quiver, and when the sparrow makes us run for cover. There is good news for us today! We need not carry that dread, mentally rehearsing it and spreading that fear to others. We heard someone curse us, and we take it to heart, fleeing it as though the crocodile’s powerful jaws were about to snap us in two. If we take time to honestly evaluate our hearts, we might find that the curse thrown in our directions was unwarranted, and therefore, it holds no real power to drag us down unless we permit it!

Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow,
an undeserved curse does not come to rest.

Proverbs 26:2

We must not fret when spit upon by unprovoked venom. This sinister form of UV can radiate out into our atmosphere as it were, and if we allow it, we will lose sleep, lose our appetites, and possibly lose our joy!

In such a confused state, we wind up fleeing the sparrow. There is a word of comfort and encouragement available to us today. We can shift our eyes towards the empowering truth and away from the enslaving lies.
